Storybook Cooking (Ages 6-11)

Step into a world where food and fantasy come together! Our Storybook Cooking Class brings beloved tales to life through hands-on cooking and baking experiences. Perfect for kids and families, this interactive class will guide participants through crafting delicious treats inspired by classic fairy tales, adventure stories, and magical worlds. $25 will be payable at registration to cover shared materials. All other ingredients will be the responsibility of the students. (18 max)

Indoor Rock Climbing (Ages 6-8)
with CLIMBING WALL STAFF
Ages: 6 - 8
Achieve new heights on the 6,000 square foot wall at San Juan College’s Health and Human Performance Center. Climbing offers a new perspective as you explore routes specifically designed for kids and learn how to boulder (bouldering is a style of rock climbing that is done close to the ground without ropes or harnesses and focuses on technique and control). Build confidence as you learn safety, basic knots and team building skills with activities and games. Wear comfortable clothing and athletic/tennis shoes. Cost includes all necessary equipment, and class cost covers staffing to ensure a 1:5 staff-to-student ratio for safety purposes. (12 max)

Step into the kitchen and make a little Disney magic! In this hands-on cooking class, kids will create fun, easy recipes inspired by their favorite Disney movies and characters. Young chefs will practice basic kitchen skills, follow simple recipes, and enjoy tasting their creations—all while building confidence, creativity, and teamwork. It’s a delicious adventure that’s practically pixie-dusted with fun! $25 will be payable at registration to cover shared materials. All other ingredients will be the responsibility of the students. In this creative class, kids use colorful string and paper to make amazing works of art—no nails or tools needed! Through looping, weaving, tying, and layering, students explore patterns, shapes, and textures while building fine motor skills and creativity. $15 class fee will be payable at registration to cover shared materials.

Lights...camera...imagination! In this creative class, children will bring stories to life through movement, drama, and storytelling activities. Students will explore characters, settings, and emotions while building confidence, communication skills, and teamwork. Through playful performances, story creation, and role-play, kids will learn to express themselves and have fun on stage—no acting experience required! (16 max)

Dribble, pass, and shoot your way into the game! This high-energy basketball class helps kids learn the basics of basketball through fun drills, games, and teamwork activities. Flowers, animals, landscapes and seascapes — you’ll be amazed at what you produce each day! Acrylic painting fosters creativity, self-confidence, cognitive focus and fun. Paint step by-step with the instructor as you’re guided to find your own style and technique. $20 will be payable at registration to cover shared materials. (16 max)

Piano from the Very Beginning (ages 6-15)

Ages: 6 - 15
It’s your week to play for the first time. This class assumes no previous experience in playing or music reading abilities. Put your hands to the keys in a group setting for beginning lessons, as well as listening to modern pianists, note reading, and learning history of composers and performers. All students need to be able to read letters, numbers and simple sentences. Keyboards provided. $10 supply fee will be payable at registration to cover shared materials. (10 max)
