Achieve new heights on the 6,000 square foot wall at San Juan College’s Health and Human Performance Center. Climbing offers a new perspective as you explore routes specifically designed for kids and learn how to boulder (bouldering is a style of rock climbing that is done close to the ground without ropes or harnesses and focuses on technique and control). Build confidence as you learn safety, basic knots and team building skills with activities and games. Wear comfortable clothing and athletic/tennis shoes. Cost includes all necessary equipment,and class cost covers staffing to ensure a 1:6 staff-to-student ratio for safety purposes. (10 max)

Kids will embark on imaginative adventures as they bring their favorite stories to life through art. Each class, children will hear a story and then get to create their own artwork inspired by the narrative—whether it’s drawing scenes, painting characters, or crafting. Have you ever heard of Pickleball? Learn the rules, how to score, and get started with this popular game. Pickleball is a game with a paddle, whiffle ball and a tennis-high net played on a court smaller than tennis. Closed-toe tennis shoes required, wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. Turn everyday treasures into one-of-a-kind works of art in out junk journaling class! In this hands-on workshop, kids will learn how to create their own journals using recycled materials like magazine cutouts, old postcards, fabric scraps, buttons, and more! They’ll explore the art of collage, mixed media, and storytelling by combining these “junk” items into creative pages that tell unique stories. $15 supply fee payable to instructor at the first class.
